“The untold story of the woman whose defiance against a papal inquisitor sparks a reckoning of lust and vengeance that gives birth to the Malleus Maleficarum.”
Burn Her Slowly is a historical psychological thriller inspired by true events, set against the dawn of the European witch hunts. At its centre is a woman whose defiance against a papal inquisitor ignites a brutal reckoning of lust, betrayal and survival – and inadvertently gives birth to the Malleus Maleficarum, the witch hunters' bible that would sanction the persecution of women for centuries.
As seven accused women fight for their lives, the trial twists into a battle of desire, betrayal, and survival.

“This is an incredibly well-written screenplay that could eventually find its way to a cinematic medium.”
“Helena is a wonderful protagonist because of her complexity of emotions – by the end, she earns the empathy and devotion of everyone in magnificent ways.”
“Helena's determination and vulnerability combine into a deeply relatable protagonist who is easy to root for, while Kramer's villainy is a compelling balance of arch and rewardingly detestable.”
“The issues addressed in this story involving womanhood and independence have a modern-day relevance that is undeniable and which will allow a broad demographic of moviegoers to find the premise relatable in the current sociopolitical climate.”
